These pastels are definitely nice. They are the smoothest pastels you will ever own, they blend nicely, they are permanent, and they produce very little dust. There are some beautiful works of art that are made with these pastels, but they are different from any other pastel out there. If you have worked with and loved pastel sticks, you need to approach PanPastels with this is mind: they do not work the way pastel sticks work. What I mean by this is that you cannot easily layer light colors over dark, not even if you fix the dark layer first, and the lightest colors are easily tainted by any darker color, which means you’d better get your lightest colors down first and keep your darker colors away from those areas. PanPastels create a very soft effect, so if you want crisp highlights and edges, use this medium in conjunction with your pastel sticks/pencils.
